Features and Benefits:

  • Micronized Cereal Grains
New processing technology that increases small intestinal digestibility of grains and reduces the risk of starch overload of the caecum.
  • Oats free & High Barley feed
For cool energy and tractable behaviour in horses.
  • High in Fat
Cool energy source that reduces the risk of starch overload of the hindgut. Fat also promotes coat shine.
  • Muesli Style Sweet Feed
Highly palatable and ensures horses ‘clean up’.
  • High Quality Protein Sources
Includes soybean meal and lysine for quality amino acid profile.
  • Lupins Included
Provide a cool source of energy
High in protein and digestible fibre but low in starch.
  • Added Lucerne Chaff
Can be fed straight from the bag.
  • Fully Fortified
Meets all the protein, vitamin and mineral requirements of the equine athlete.
  • Live Yeast Culture
    Increases hindgut digestion of fibre.
  • High Magnesium Levels
    Calms nervous horses.
  • Added Anti-Oxidants
Vitamin E and selenium can reduce muscle soreness, cell damage and other related disorders.
  • Added Chromium
To improve glucose transfer and reduce lactic acid accumulation.
  • Added Electrolytes
Replaces electrolyte losses in sweat during work and travel.
  • High Levels of B Vitamins
Helps build red blood cells and keep horses ‘cleaning up’ feed.
  • Reduces Risk Factors For Tying Up
Suitable for horses prone to tying up.

Feeding Directions:

As a guide, horses weighing approximately 500kg in full work will require between 4kg (7.7 litres) - 7kgs (13.5 litres) of Cool Time per day. The amount of Cool Time fed should be varied depending on the workload, metabolism, forage quality and body condition of the horse. Halve the intake of Cool Time on rest days. Cool Time should be fed in conjunction with a minimum of 5kg (1% of body weight) of quality roughage such as Equi-chaff or hay as a fibre source for optimal hindgut health. Do not feed more than 2.5kg of Cool Time per feed.

As Cool Time is a highly digestible high-energy feed source, care should be taken not to overfeed horses confined to stables or not receiving regular exercise. Cool Time is suitable for performance horses that tie up as its low starch, oats free formulation may reduce tying up in some horses. Reduce the intake of Cool Time if horses gain too much weight or training intensity decreases.

Introduce Cool Time to your horses diet gradually over a period of 7 - 10 days. During periods of heavy sweat loss, additional supplementation of a quality electrolyte such as Capstone Horse Electrolyte is recommended.
